About me
Jim graduated from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY in 1980 and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. After college, Jim began his career back in the family business in Olean, New York. L’Alcove-Castle, Inc. was a corporation running numerous operations in the hospitality industry. From Full-Service restaurants, Motels, as well as a small Ponderosa Restaurant chain.
From there he moved on to Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL working in the Magic Kingdom in Food and Beverage Management. Upon returning home, Jim reentered the educational world and received his Master’s Degree in Teaching. He then spent the next 25 years teaching Business and Computers at the Southwestern Central School District in Jamestown, NY.
Jim joined the Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union Board of Directors in 2014. Upon his retirement from teaching in 2020, after the sale of his Lawn Care Business, Jim joined Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union in the capacity of Community Impact Officer. Jim is involved in numerous facets of SCFCU including financial literacy education presentations and overseeing the Four School-Based Branches that SCFCU operates in area high schools.
Jim expects that he will finally retire completely somewhere in the next five to six years.
